These are the people who will talk plenty of emails, text messages, or even on the phone but when it comes to actually meeting and getting together it is excuse after excuse. These can also be referred to as the "but" people. "I would love to get together but...." and the excuses are endless and seem to always pop up. They will keep you dangling on a string for weeks or months with one excuse after another. They have previous plans, they need to help their mom weed their garden, it is too cold outside.......yeah, some of the excuses get to be pretty lame after a while. It eventually gets to be a game. You want to see what lame excuse they can come up with today and you just start asking every day. Some can be pretty creative but after a while they start to get pretty week. Actually getting to see these people in person ends up being an exercise very close to trying to scheduling a one on one Beer Pong game with the Dalai Llama.
What is even worse is when you finally get tired of the excuses (really.....your cat seems depressed because he has only licked himself 4 times today so you are worried he might commit suicide) and just give up talking with them then they think it is something that you did and not anything that they have did. I guess that is the way the world is though, don't lay the blame on yourself when you can lay it on someone else and get a clear conscious.
I'm not saying that things won't come up but when they constantly come up then that is a bit much. I'm one of the most understanding people that things can pop up that you just have to tend to but if you want to have a relationship with someone you need to realize that it actually involves spending time together actually physically in the same place. Otherwise, you might as well just be pen pals.
